A Set of 5, Victorian, John Walton, Newcastle, Sterling Silver Gilt Fiddle Pattern Egg Spoons
Manufacturer - John Walton, Painter Heugh, Newcastle
Date - 1854
Description - A set of five Victorian sterling silver egg spoons in the classic fiddle pattern, each engraved with a neatly executed ‘B’ to the handle. A sixth spoon, included for completeness, has a distorted bowl but remains a useful spare.
These spoons have a pleasing weight in the hand and the clean, confident lines typical of mid‑19th‑century flatware. The bowls are well‑shaped and perfectly proportioned for egg service, though they also make wonderfully versatile little spoons for desserts, condiments, or preserves. The matching monogram adds a subtle thread of family history without distracting from the simplicity of the design.
A charming and increasingly scarce set of Victorian egg spoons — elegant, practical, and ideal for collectors of period silver or for adding a touch of refinement to the breakfast table.

Hallmark - The spoons have clear hallmarks with a manufacturer's cypher for John Walton and have a Newcastle date cypher for 1845
